Who do you talk to most throughout the day? Think of that person now.
Is it a best friend, a partner, a parent, or your pet?
Trick question… it’s you.
Whether it’s an almost mindless thought or a full-on made-up scenario that you’ve created, we are in our heads all day. And what we keep there affects our hearts. It affects how we feel.
Notice what happens when you have a fake argument in your head with someone, or imagine a negative response you’re anticipating — your heart rate increases, your fists clench, your body reacts. It doesn’t feel fake, does it?
Your thoughts are not innocent.
They determine how you feel and behave.
Belittling yourself causes you to be little. It keeps you small, inadequate, not enough — or maybe too much.
From now on, be your biggest cheerleader.
Stop accepting negative thoughts about yourself that you wouldn’t accept someone else saying to you.
Focus on what you want instead.
Next time you’re feeling down, worried, or fearful, shift your focus to the direct reversal of that feeling — and you’ll see, it gets easier with time.
Remember:
Your thoughts shape your reality… and you can choose thoughts that lift you up.
